Alaska’s JoAnn & Monte
Some things just get better with age: wine, cheese and Alaska’s JoAnn & Monte.
For over 40 years, these former hippy musicians who met in 30 below temperatures in Fairbanks, Alaska have fermented and ripened with all the best ingredients life has to offer. They have cooked up a well-seasoned, multi-media, musical recipe sure to please your audiences’ cravings.
These Alaska troubadours have captured the hearts of audiences from coast to coast performing colleges, fairs, festivals, theatres, arenas and opening concerts for name artists: Little River Band, Holly Near, John Mayall and more. They recorded 12 albums of original music and garnered extensive airplay and media coverage.
Former Alaska Governor, Jay Hammond remarked, “JoAnn & Monte are Alaska’s favorite songbirds.”
Enhanced with slides and film footage, their songs and stories take you on a journey through the beauty, glory and magnificence of Alaska. It is a musical expedition of blues, rock, folk, country and jazz with voices born to sing and destined to harmonize.
JoAnn & Monte weave the threads of their love-at-first-sight meeting with their love of Alaska, music, family, friends and life. Tales of living in a cabin with an outhouse but no running water, fishing tales - some true and some embellished - and relationship experiences and challenges are interspersed with everything that makes going to a live concert so wondrous: intimate, original, heartfelt and soul ”full”.
“To date, I have yet to find anyone who compares musically, mentally or spiritually.” General Manager KRKN 102FM, Anchorage, AK, Kent Byus
Audiences from 19 to 90 have laughed at their insightful humor, shed a tear from their emotional stories, sung along with their infectious melodies, and left with a heart full of happiness and hope.
Everybody loves Alaska and everybody loves Alaska’s JoAnn & Monte.
